THE SHOP FRONT is a temporary non-profit artist-led pop-up gallery space run by Artist Lizzie Cardozo. This space showcases painters, sculptors, multi-media and interdisciplinary artists at the start of their careers. 

 

Birthed in 2020 from cancelled grad shows of this project space aims to promote and champion emerging artists at the start of their careers.

Since 2020 we have shown over 70 international artists in 7 shows across London. We have been listed on Seb’s art list, (SAL) is a widely known art database which is a hub for exhibition listings. I have sold works from exhibitions and built a large network of artists and clients. Art Rabbit listed one of the shows as a highlight on attractions in London. Shop Front was also awarded a place on the Incubate UAL programme in 2022 and completed it in 2023. Shop Front was also awarded a space for 2 months by Hypha Studios in Enfield in January earlier this year.

In the future the Shop Front aims to continue to find spaces across London. Popping up for short periods, impacting and engaging the local communities providing workshops for school children and young adults.

Shop Front has also been a place to bring artists together across the world, universities and community, making art more accessible to a wider audience. All the while making conscious decisions to work with intention, purpose and with a goal to change the art industry. 75% of artists shown through Shop Front have been women and non-binary artists, with an aim to continue this positive change.
